SUBARU ALIGNMENT

Protect your tires and keep your Subaru driving properly.

Wheel alignment affects steering response, tire wear, stability and vehicle tracking. Subaru vehicles can be especially sensitive to tire condition and suspension geometry because of their AWD systems and enthusiast-oriented chassis setups.

Uneven Tire Wear

Excessive toe or camber can quickly wear the inside or outside edge of a tire.

Steering Wheel Off-Centre

A crooked steering wheel can indicate incorrect toe settings or suspension geometry.

Pulling or Wandering

Alignment, tire condition and worn suspension components can all cause a vehicle to pull or wander.

After Suspension Work

Control arms, struts, coilovers, tie rods and other suspension work can change wheel alignment.

Lifted Subaru

Lift kits alter suspension geometry and should be followed by a proper four-wheel alignment. Lifted Vehicle Alignment →

Lowered or Performance Subaru

Coilovers, springs and adjustable components often require custom alignment settings. Lowered Vehicle Alignment →

BEFORE THE ALIGNMENT

We inspect the parts that actually hold the alignment.

Setting alignment angles on worn steering or suspension components does not solve the underlying problem. Your Subaru must be mechanically capable of holding the alignment before adjustments are made.

Tie Rods Checked for wear, looseness and seized adjusters. Tie Rod End Repair →
Ball Joints Checked for looseness and excessive movement. Ball Joint Repair →
Control Arm Bushings Inspected for deterioration or movement.
Wheel Bearings Checked for play and abnormal noise.
Shocks & Struts Checked for leaks and obvious wear.
Tires Condition, wear pattern and suitability are reviewed.

OUR ALIGNMENT PROCESS

More than simply putting the vehicle on the rack.

1. Pre-Alignment Inspection

Steering, suspension, wheels and tires are checked for conditions that could prevent a successful alignment.

2. Measure Geometry

Current alignment angles are measured and compared against the appropriate specifications or requested custom setup.

3. Make Adjustments

Factory adjustment points are set where possible. Modified vehicles may require additional adjustable components.

4. Confirm Results

Final measurements are checked before the vehicle leaves the alignment rack.

5. Road Test

Where appropriate, the vehicle is road tested to evaluate steering, tracking and overall behaviour.

6. Recommendations

If additional suspension or alignment hardware is needed, we explain what is required and why.

MODIFIED SUBARU ALIGNMENT

Lift kits, coilovers and adjustable suspension.

Modified vehicles frequently need more than factory alignment settings. Tell us how the Subaru is used and what suspension, wheel and tire changes have been made.

Modified Vehicle Alignment
Coilovers Ride-height and alignment changes after installation.
Lift Kits Geometry correction for lifted Crosstrek, Forester and Outback.
Camber Bolts Additional adjustment when appropriate for the setup.
Adjustable Arms Useful where factory adjustment range is insufficient.
Wheel & Tire Changes Wider wheels and different tire sizes can affect vehicle behaviour.

WRX · STI · BRZ

Custom alignment for Subaru performance vehicles.

Performance street and track cars may benefit from alignment settings different from a normal daily driver. Camber and toe settings can be tailored to vehicle use, tire choice and suspension configuration.

Performance Alignment
Daily Driver Balanced handling with tire life in mind.
Spirited Street Sharper response while maintaining reasonable road manners.
Autocross Setup based on available adjustment and vehicle configuration.
Track Custom settings based on vehicle goals and suspension hardware.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Is your Subaru ready for an alignment?

If the vehicle has recently had steering or suspension work completed, the components should be correctly installed and in safe operating condition before the alignment appointment.

Steering & suspension requirements What must be in good condition before we can align the vehicle.

Tie rods, ball joints, bushings, wheel bearings and other steering and suspension components must not have excessive wear or play. Leaking or severely worn shocks and struts may also prevent a successful alignment.

Seized alignment adjustments Older vehicles may require additional work before adjustments can be made.

If an adjustment point is seized or damaged, additional labour or replacement components may be required before alignment settings can be corrected.

Recently modified or repaired vehicles Tell us what work has recently been performed.

Let us know about recently installed control arms, tie rods, coilovers, lift kits, subframes or other steering and suspension components. This helps our technician understand the vehicle before it goes onto the rack.

What happens if the vehicle fails inspection? We will not align unsafe or excessively worn components.

If the Subaru cannot safely or accurately be aligned because of worn or damaged components, the alignment will not proceed until the issue is corrected. Inspection time may be chargeable.

SUBARU ALIGNMENT FAQ

Common Subaru alignment questions.

Do you align lifted Subaru vehicles?

Yes. We align lifted Crosstrek, Forester and Outback vehicles. Additional adjustable components may be required depending on the amount of lift and available factory adjustment.

Can you align lowered WRX and STI models?

Yes. We work with lowered and modified Subaru vehicles including vehicles using lowering springs, coilovers and adjustable suspension.

Can you use custom alignment specifications?

Yes. Performance vehicles can be aligned to custom settings when appropriate for the vehicle, available adjustment and intended use.

Why does my Subaru need an inspection before alignment?

Worn tie rods, ball joints, bushings, bearings or damaged suspension components can prevent the vehicle from holding a correct alignment.

Should I get an alignment after installing new suspension?

Yes. Replacing struts, control arms, tie rods, coilovers, springs or lift components can change wheel geometry and should generally be followed by alignment.

Can an alignment fix uneven tire wear?

Incorrect toe or camber can contribute to uneven tire wear. Tire condition and worn suspension components should also be inspected.
