Catalytic Converter Theft — ICBC Claim Process

If your catalytic converter has been stolen, Dale’s Auto Service can help guide you through the ICBC claim and repair process.

Step 1: Report the Theft to Police

Before starting your ICBC claim, report the catalytic converter theft to your local police department.

Please write down your police file number, as ICBC may require this when your claim is reported.

Step 2: Report Your Claim to ICBC

Once you have reported the theft to police, contact ICBC to open your claim and receive your ICBC claim number.

What You May Need Before Reporting Your Claim

Please have the following information ready:

• Vehicle licence plate number

• Driver’s licence number of the registered owner, lessee, or principal driver

• ICBC insurance information

• Police file number

• Date and approximate time of the theft

• Any details about the incident or damage to the vehicle

Step 3: Bring or Tow Your Vehicle to Dale’s Auto Service

You can have your vehicle towed or brought directly to Dale’s Auto Service without an appointment. This allows us to inspect the vehicle, document the damage, and begin the ICBC repair process as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Replacement Vehicle / Rental Coverage

If you have rental coverage and your claim has been accepted, you may be eligible for a replacement vehicle while your vehicle is being repaired.
