Lifted Vehicle Alignment Service FAQ
1. Do lifted vehicles require special alignment settings?
Yes. Lifts change suspension geometry, requiring custom caster, camber, and toe settings that standard shops cannot properly set. Our expert ensures correct geometry for safety and tire longevity.
2. How often should I align a lifted truck or SUV?
We recommend every 12 months or immediately after installing lift components, new tires, or suspension upgrades.
3. Can a regular mechanic align a lifted vehicle?
Most cannot. Lifted vehicles require specialized knowledge, aftermarket adjustment strategies, and equipment that can handle oversized tires. Dale’s offers all of this.
4. Will an alignment fix steering pull or wander on a lifted truck?
Most of the time, yes. Proper caster and toe adjustments significantly improve stability, steering feel, and straight-line behaviour.
5. Do bigger tires affect alignment?
Absolutely. Larger tires increase rolling resistance and change steering behaviour. We adjust alignment to compensate for tire size and wheel offset.

Pre-Alignment Checklist:
Before bringing your car in for alignment, please ensure the following:
- Confirm that the steering and suspension are in safe, proper working condition.
- Check that the front tie rods are not seized, as we do not use heat to free them up.
- Inspect ball joints, bushings, and tie rods for signs of wear or play.
- Ensure bearings are not loose or worn, and there are no leaking struts or shocks.
- Verify the steering box for minor play, and ensure tires are safe for driving.
- The vehicle must be capable of running under its own power.
- If the vehicle underwent restoration, ensure all work has been double-checked by the facility/person responsible. If unsure, book a steering/suspension re-torque before the alignment appointment.
- We will proceed with the alignment once the vehicle passes our inspection
Please note, should any components fail inspection, there will be a charge for the inspection as our technicians invest time in this process. We aim to avoid wasting your time and money by addressing these issues upfront.
Please request a steering and suspension inspection if you do not know the condition of your vehicle.
Thorough inspections and prioritize safety to prevent any future issues.
