Why Lifted Vehicles Need a Specialist
Lifted suspension drastically changes:
-
Caster angle (affects stability)
-
Camber angle (affects tire wear)
-
Toe angle (affects handling & fuel use)
-
Steering geometry
-
Track width & tire scrub radius
Most general shops can’t dial these in correctly — especially on:
-
4–6″+ lift kits
-
Long-travel suspension
-
Coilover conversions
-
Aftermarket control arms
-
Leveling kits
-
Overland & off-road builds
Dale’s Auto Service handles all makes & models, including:
Toyota (Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra), Ford (F-150, F-250, F-350), Ram, Chevrolet/GMC, Jeep, Nissan, Bronco, Sprinter, Tacoma long-travel, and more.

Lifted Vehicle Alignment Service FAQ
1. Do lifted trucks need a special alignment?
Yes. Lifts alter suspension geometry, making a standard alignment ineffective. A lifted vehicle requires custom caster, camber, and toe adjustments.
2. How often should I align my lifted vehicle?
Every 12 months, or sooner if you off-road frequently, install new tires, or change suspension components.
3. Can Dale’s align long-travel or aftermarket control-arm setups?
Absolutely — we specialize in modified suspensions and custom geometry correction.
4. Will incorrect alignment damage my tires?
Yes. Lifted vehicles with poor caster and toe settings can burn through tires in 5,000–10,000 km.
5. Can you align lifted EVs or hybrid SUVs?
Yes. We service all makes, models, and drivetrains — including EVs and hybrids.

Pre-Alignment Checklist:
Before bringing your car in for alignment, please ensure the following:
- Confirm that the steering and suspension are in safe, proper working condition.
- Check that the front tie rods are not seized, as we do not use heat to free them up.
- Inspect ball joints, bushings, and tie rods for signs of wear or play.
- Ensure bearings are not loose or worn, and there are no leaking struts or shocks.
- Verify the steering box for minor play, and ensure tires are safe for driving.
- The vehicle must be capable of running under its own power.
- If the vehicle underwent restoration, ensure all work has been double-checked by the facility/person responsible. If unsure, book a steering/suspension re-torque before the alignment appointment.
- We will proceed with the alignment once the vehicle passes our inspection
Please note, should any components fail inspection, there will be a charge for the inspection as our technicians invest time in this process. We aim to avoid wasting your time and money by addressing these issues upfront.
Please request a steering and suspension inspection if you do not know the condition of your vehicle.
Thorough inspections and prioritize safety to prevent any future issues.
