Service Advisor Position Opportunity

Dales Auto Service has been servicing customers for 48 years!

We are currently looking for a service advisor that has the ability to perform the tasks and responsibilities listed below at a high level of compete that will separate themselves from other suitable candidates.

We are looking for an ideal candidate wanting a long term career position not someone to be a fill-in or stepping stone career stop.

Qualifications for Service Advisor

  • Working knowledge and experience of automotive products, repairs and parts
  • Secondary education in the automotive field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate customer needs to workable technician orders
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs including word processing and database tools
  • Organizational skills including the ability to schedule appointments, meet with customers and ensure that work is done properly
  • Exceptional customer service skills based on experience
  • Continuing education and knowledge acquisition on the function and repair of newer vehicles
  • Basic mathematics skills to prepare and process bills and customer payment
  • Ability to communicate complicated automotive processes to customers who may only have basic automotive knowledge

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome our customers in a prompt, courteous manner
  • Communicate with customers to determine the nature of their mechanical problems.
  • Work to be a strong educator on product & repairs to make customers comfortable and informed.
  • Obtain customer and vehicle data.
  • Schedule appointments using Enterprise software.
  • Advise customers on the status of their cars and provide estimates
  • Communicate the need for additional work when needed; explain the details to the customer, including the additional cost and time consideration and document properly on work order.
  • Follow up progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers regarding changes in the estimate or time promised.
  • Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and return phone messages promptly.
  • Stay up to date on technical and performance information on all vehicles serviced at Dales
  • Assist co-workers.
  • Demonstrate a behaviour that is consistent with the Company’s Mission and Core Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to $70,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • service advisor: 1 year (preferred)
  • Customer service: 1 year (required)
