JDM Wheel Alignment FAQ

How often should I align my JDM car?
At least every 12 months or 10,000–15,000 km, and any time you hit a pothole/curb, change ride height, wheels/tires, or suspension parts.

Will a lowered car align to spec?
Usually yes—if you have adequate adjustability (camber bolts/arms/top hats). We’ll advise the best parts to regain proper range.

Street vs. track specs—can I switch?
Yes. We can build a street-friendly baseline and provide a track card with quick changes you or we can make before events.

Why are my tires wearing on the inside?
Typically excessive negative camber or toe. A proper alignment and bushing/tie-rod health check will correct uneven wear.

Do I need an alignment after suspension work?
Absolutely. Springs, coilovers, control arms, even new tires can shift geometry—align immediately to protect handling and tire life.

Pre-Alignment Checklist:

Before bringing your car in for alignment, please ensure the following:

  • Confirm that the steering and suspension are in safe, proper working condition.
  • Check that the front tie rods are not seized, as we do not use heat to free them up.
  • Inspect ball joints, bushings, and tie rods for signs of wear or play.
  • Ensure bearings are not loose or worn, and there are no leaking struts or shocks.
  • Verify the steering box for minor play, and ensure tires are safe for driving.
  • The vehicle must be capable of running under its own power.
  • If the vehicle underwent restoration, ensure all work has been double-checked by the facility/person responsible. If unsure, book a steering/suspension re-torque before the alignment appointment.
  • We will proceed with the alignment once the vehicle passes our inspection

Please note, should any components fail inspection, there will be a charge for the inspection as our technicians invest time in this process. We aim to avoid wasting your time and money by addressing these issues upfront.

Please request a steering and suspension inspection if you do not know the condition of your vehicle.

Thorough inspections and prioritize safety to prevent any future issues.
