Why Lowered Vehicles Need a Specialized Alignment
A standard alignment does NOT work for a lowered car. When your vehicle sits lower:
-
✔ Geometry drastically changes
-
✔ Camber angles become more aggressive
-
✔ Toe settings shift under suspension load
-
✔ Tire wear accelerates
-
✔ Steering response becomes unpredictable
-
✔ ADAS sensors (on newer vehicles) may need recalibration
-
✔ Control arms, bushings, and coilovers need proper evaluation
This is why Cloverdale drivers trust Jeff, our in-house wheel alignment specialist.
“Jeff isn’t just a technician — he’s a true alignment specialist. There is a difference.”

Lowered Vehicle Alignment FAQ
1. Do lowered cars need a special wheel alignment?
Yes. Lowering a vehicle changes suspension geometry, meaning a standard alignment will not correct camber, caster, and toe properly. A lowered-vehicle alignment specialist is required.
2. How often should I align my lowered vehicle?
We recommend every 6–12 months, or immediately after installing coilovers, lowering springs, camber arms, or any suspension parts.
3. Can you align cars with coilovers, air suspension, or camber kits?
Absolutely. We specialize in coilover setups, air ride systems, camber kits, toe arms, adjustable control arms, and full custom suspension configurations.
4. Will a proper alignment reduce tire wear on a lowered car?
Yes. A correct alignment significantly reduces uneven tire wear, improves handling stability, and enhances overall driving safety.
5. Do you align all makes and models?
Yes — Dale’s Auto Service performs lowered-vehicle alignment on all makes and models, including European, Japanese, domestic, EVs, and performance vehicles.

Pre-Alignment Checklist:
Before bringing your car in for alignment, please ensure the following:
- Confirm that the steering and suspension are in safe, proper working condition.
- Check that the front tie rods are not seized, as we do not use heat to free them up.
- Inspect ball joints, bushings, and tie rods for signs of wear or play.
- Ensure bearings are not loose or worn, and there are no leaking struts or shocks.
- Verify the steering box for minor play, and ensure tires are safe for driving.
- The vehicle must be capable of running under its own power.
- If the vehicle underwent restoration, ensure all work has been double-checked by the facility/person responsible. If unsure, book a steering/suspension re-torque before the alignment appointment.
- We will proceed with the alignment once the vehicle passes our inspection
Please note, should any components fail inspection, there will be a charge for the inspection as our technicians invest time in this process. We aim to avoid wasting your time and money by addressing these issues upfront.
Please request a steering and suspension inspection if you do not know the condition of your vehicle.
Thorough inspections and prioritize safety to prevent any future issues.
