VW Alignment FAQ
Q1: How often should I align my Volkswagen?
A: Check alignment every 12 months or 10,000–15,000 km, after new tires, suspension work, or any significant pothole/curb impact.
Q2: Can you align lowered or modified VWs?
A: Yes. We routinely align lowered cars, coilovers, adjustable control arms, and wider wheel/tire setups, aiming for factory or custom specs.
Q3: Do I need an alignment when I buy tires?
A: Highly recommended. A fresh alignment protects your new tires, maximizing tread life and warranty compliance.
Q4: Why does my steering wheel sit off-center?
A: Toe is likely out of spec or a suspension/steering component has shifted or worn. An alignment with inspection will re-center the wheel and address the cause.
Q5: Will an alignment fix vibration?
A: It can help if the vibration is alignment-related, but vibrations often come from wheel balance, bent wheels, or tire issues. We’ll diagnose and advise the best fix.

Pre-Alignment Checklist:
Before bringing your car in for alignment, please ensure the following:
- Confirm that the steering and suspension are in safe, proper working condition.
- Check that the front tie rods are not seized, as we do not use heat to free them up.
- Inspect ball joints, bushings, and tie rods for signs of wear or play.
- Ensure bearings are not loose or worn, and there are no leaking struts or shocks.
- Verify the steering box for minor play, and ensure tires are safe for driving.
- The vehicle must be capable of running under its own power.
- If the vehicle underwent restoration, ensure all work has been double-checked by the facility/person responsible. If unsure, book a steering/suspension re-torque before the alignment appointment.
- We will proceed with the alignment once the vehicle passes our inspection
Please note, should any components fail inspection, there will be a charge for the inspection as our technicians invest time in this process. We aim to avoid wasting your time and money by addressing these issues upfront.
Please request a steering and suspension inspection if you do not know the condition of your vehicle.
Thorough inspections and prioritize safety to prevent any future issues.
