Oil Changes Are a Full-Day Drop-Off Service
Dale's Auto Service is not a quick-lube shop. We do not rush vehicles through simply to change the oil and get them out the door. Your vehicle may also need fluid checks, tire inspection, brake inspection, filter checks, maintenance recommendations or attention to other items. Providing the vehicle for the day gives our technicians the time required to service and inspect it properly.

Common Oil Change Questions
Are oil changes at Dale's a while-you-wait service?
No. Oil change appointments are booked as full-day drop-off service. This gives our technicians time to complete the oil service properly and inspect the vehicle without rushing it through like a quick-lube facility.
How often should I change my engine oil?
The correct interval depends on the manufacturer, engine, oil specification, mileage and operating conditions. We recommend following the vehicle-specific maintenance requirements rather than using one interval for every vehicle.
Do you use synthetic oil?
Yes. We use the appropriate oil for the vehicle, including synthetic and manufacturer-specific oils where required.
Do European vehicles need special engine oil?
Many European manufacturers specify engine oils that meet particular manufacturer approvals in addition to the correct viscosity. We match the oil to the vehicle's requirements.
Do diesel engines use different engine oil?
Diesel engines can require specific oil classifications and specifications based on the engine and emissions system. The correct product should be used for the application.
Do hybrid vehicles still need oil changes?
Yes. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles that use a gasoline engine still require engine oil and filter maintenance. Fully electric vehicles do not have a gasoline engine and therefore do not require an engine oil change.
Can you reset my oil-life or maintenance reminder?
Yes. Applicable maintenance and oil-life reminders are reset after the service is completed.
Can you check other maintenance during my oil change?
Yes. That is one reason oil changes at Dale's are booked as drop-off service. The visit provides an opportunity to review vehicle condition and identify maintenance or repair items that may require attention.
Is an oil-pressure warning the same as an oil-change reminder?
No. An oil-change or maintenance reminder indicates service is due. An oil-pressure warning can indicate a more serious lubrication problem and should not simply be treated as a routine oil-change reminder.
