Shock & Strut Services

Find the cause of the ride or handling concern.

Similar symptoms can come from several components. Our inspection helps separate damper concerns from tire, mounting or other suspension issues.

Shock Absorber Replacement

Inspect leaks, damping concerns and mounts. Replacement shocks must suit the vehicle, ride height and intended use.

Ask About Shocks →

Strut Replacement

Inspect applicable strut assemblies, springs and mounting components. We review what needs replacing rather than assuming a complete assembly is always necessary.

Mounts & Related Hardware

Check mounts, bearings, boots, bump stops and hardware when investigating clunks or replacing dampers.

Related Suspension Wear

Inspect relevant bushings, links, control arms and other components that can affect noise, handling or ride comfort.

Signs to Have Checked

Tell us what changed.

These symptoms do not identify a failed shock or strut by themselves. Tires, mounts and other suspension parts can also contribute.

Excessive bouncing after bumps
Clunks over uneven roads
More body movement in corners
Leaking shocks or struts
Cupped or uneven tire wear
Changes after a lift or leveling kit
Harsh or unsettled ride
Suspension warning on applicable models

Shock & Suspension Upgrades

Choose parts for the way you use your vehicle.

For a Chevrolet used for commuting, towing, hauling or overland travel, tell us the current suspension, tire size, usual load and how you want the ride to change. Damper length, spring compatibility, electronic systems and installation requirements need to suit the application. Upgraded shocks do not increase the vehicle's rated load or towing capacity.

Explore suitable options through Dale's Motorsport. Availability and fitment vary; confirm the exact application before ordering.

Chevrolet Truck & SUV Applications

Match the shocks to your Chevrolet's actual setup.

Model year, drivetrain, trim, suspension package and modifications affect parts selection. Include any factory electronic suspension, lift or leveling kit, larger tires, permanent accessories and the usual load when booking.

Silverado 1500 & HD Trucks

For daily drivers, work trucks and tow vehicles, we review damper condition, mounting components and the reported ride concern. Tell us whether the truck is stock, lifted, leveled or regularly carrying equipment.

Colorado & Modified Trucks

Include the exact trim, aftermarket components and suspension changes. Shock length, mounting and travel need to match the fitted setup; a part advertised for the model may not suit every configuration.

Tahoe, Suburban & Avalanche

Describe bouncing, harshness, clunks, leaking dampers or suspension warnings. Factory systems vary by year and trim, so we confirm the suspension and scope of work before ordering replacement parts.

Clear Repair Recommendations

Inspect, explain and plan the work.

Our Digital Vehicle Inspection can document worn or damaged components with photos, video and technician notes. We discuss replacement choices, related parts and any alignment needs before proceeding.

Shock & Strut FAQ

Questions before booking.

Do these symptoms always mean the shocks or struts have failed?

No. Tires, mounts, bushings, links and other components can create similar symptoms. We inspect before recommending replacement parts.

Should shocks or struts be replaced in pairs?

We assess both sides of the axle and discuss a suitable replacement plan. Matching damping characteristics and the condition of related components are part of the decision.

Can I choose an upgrade instead of a standard replacement?

We can review suitable options through Dale's Motorsport, based on the exact vehicle, ride height, spring compatibility, electronic systems and driving needs.

Will I need an alignment?

Work that changes suspension geometry often calls for an alignment check. Every shock replacement does not necessarily change alignment; we explain what is appropriate for your repair.

Can you work on factory or electronic Chevrolet suspension?

Tell us the model, year, trim and warning messages. We confirm the tooling, software and compatible parts needed before agreeing to the work.

Will replacement shocks lift my Chevrolet?

A standard replacement shock is selected to suit the fitted suspension. A ride-height change requires compatible parts and a review of the complete setup, including travel, clearances and alignment. Tell us your goal before ordering parts.
