What are the most common Honda repair problems?

Common Honda repair issues include CVT transmission wear, timing belt service on V6 models, brake wear, oil dilution in turbo engines, and suspension component failure.

How often should I service my Honda transmission?

Honda CVT transmissions should be serviced every 40,000–60,000 km to prevent costly failure.

Do Honda engines require timing belt replacement?

V6 Honda engines (Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline) require timing belt replacement around 160,000 km.

Are Honda turbo engines reliable?

Yes, but 1.5L turbo engines require proper oil changes and monitoring for dilution issues.

I have had repeated problems with the DEF system . I went looking for a service center where I could have a conversation about my vehicle with an informed person at the front desk. I found it at Dales.

I waited a year to see if there would be problems with a timing belt kit install on a Sequoia. There are none and the Truck runs great, that s why I gave 5 Stars. I would go back.

  Excellent service.

They’re very professional and would always recommend them, the diagnosis was accurate and fast.
It was a transmission failure therefore I needed a replacement, which they delivered at a timely manner, despite the amount of work involved.

Great work and quality.

Yesterday morning as I prepared to leave my home, my car sputtered to start. I drove to Dale's and thankfully my car could get booked in to check the source of the problem. Within 15 minutes, I was called to advise me that I needed a new battery. Within two hours my car was ready for pickup. I have been a customer for many years and I have always received friendly, informed and timely service.

Honda Service FAQ

What mileage should I service my Honda at?
A: Follow Honda’s Maintenance Minder or 8,000–10,000 km oil service intervals. We’ll align inspections/fluids to your Minder codes and driving style.

Do you use OEM parts on Hondas?
A: Yes—OEM or high-quality OEM-equivalent parts. We’ll explain the options, pricing, and warranty for each.

Can you handle Honda CVT service?
A: Absolutely. We use Honda-spec fluids and procedures for CVTs to protect longevity and shift quality.

My check-engine light is on—can you diagnose it?
A: Yes. We start with a scan and targeted testing to find the cause, not just the code, then give you a clear plan and estimate.

How fast can you get me in?
A: Many services are same-day or next-day. Call 604-530-9160 and we’ll prioritize urgent repairs and safety items.
